Built for someone who needed it.
DUI911 (dui911.org) is a free, independent educational website for people who were just arrested for DUI or DWI in the United States. It explains, state by state, what happens next: the deadline to fight your license suspension, the penalties you could face, how the court process works, and what to do first. Every legal fact links to the statute, DMV or DPS page, or court page it comes from.
"The resource they needed didn't exist. So I built it."
I built DUI911 because when a loved one went through it, there was nothing like it.
I got the call in the middle of the night. They'd been arrested. By the time they were released — disoriented, scared, holding a piece of paper with a court date — nobody had told them what to do next. Not the officers. Not the system. Nobody.
No one told them that in Texas you have 15 days to file an ALR hearing for your license. No one explained the difference between the criminal charge and the administrative suspension.
I watched someone I care about try to navigate a system that isn't designed to help you succeed. And I saw how broken it was.
This site exists so the next person doesn't have to figure it out alone.
