Senate Bill 1099: tougher vehicular manslaughter sentences for repeat DUI
Session Law Chapter 171, signed March 25, 2025, adds mandatory minimum prison terms to vehicular manslaughter (§18-4007) for a driver with a prior DUI: at least 5 years fixed for a second offense and 10 years for a third or later. At DUI sentencing, judges must now warn the defendant of this.
