    1. 2026 (approved April 14, 2026)

      LB1126: interlock permit holders can skip license testing at reinstatement

      Lets the DMV waive license testing for qualifying ignition interlock permit holders who reinstate, and drops the testing requirement for people who held an interlock permit less than one year.

    2. January 1, 2026 (out-of-state orders)

      LB97: wider access to the ignition interlock permit

      Approved April 14, 2025. A person who never held a Class O or M license can now get an ignition interlock permit, and from January 1, 2026 the DMV accepts another state’s court or ALR order to issue one.
