Blood-test warrants in misdemeanor DWI cases (HB 8, 2025 public safety package)
Officers can now get a search warrant for a blood test in a misdemeanor DWI investigation, and testing reaches drugs as well as alcohol. EMTs and phlebotomists were added to the people allowed to draw blood.
