Tougher penalties for DWI that injures or kills (HB 1740, Bentley and Mason’s Law)
Raises DWI causing physical injury to a class D felony, serious physical injury to a class C felony, and death to a class B felony, with mandatory prison time for some fatal DWIs. It also tightens interlock rules at 0.15 BAC or more and lets a court order child maintenance when a DWI kills a child’s parent or guardian.
